Costly multi-million dollar cartoons can now be filmed using the iPhone X camera


Unexpectedly, the iPhone's TrueDepth camera technology can help simulate characters in animated films.

Previously, to create animations and expressions for characters in cartoons, filmmakers would have to ask the stuntman.

This approach also requires the investment of a system of expensive machines, including many types of sensors attached to the body and face of the actor.

A filmmaker named KNL Studios tested the above hypothesis and achieved success beyond expectations. They easily simulate movement and expressions for an animated character, thanks to the camera of the iPhone X.
